Toys "R" Us

Toys "R" Us is a chain of toy retailers founded by American entrepreneur Charles P. Lazarus in 1957. During the early-to-mid 90s, the company would distribute a few direct-to-video animated Christmas specials under the Toys "R" Us name to be sold exclusively in their stores, namely Nick & NoelThe Bears Who Saved Christmas, and Dot and Spot's Magical Christmas Adventure. On June 29, 2018, Toys "R" Us closed its remaining 200 stores after entering bankruptcy, which led to the Barney Home Video franchise being changed to the Pinkfong franchise on PBS and the Paramount Pictures name being changed to the Paramount Family Entertainment (formerly Warner Bros. Family Entertainment, with Mr. Whiskers in the logo in place of Bugs Bunny) on its on-screen logo in July 2016, despite Mr. Whiskers making his first appearance, Barney & Friends ending its reruns and Warner Bros. Pictures being merged with Paramount Pictures on January 29, August 31 and September 23, 2016 and the Paramount Family Entertainment name debuting on August 29, 2017 and made its on-screen debut on April 24, 2018 in the UK and July 9, 2018 in the US.

Visuals: On a white background, the stacked words "Holiday Entertainment" appear in tall, bold letters appear above the words "brought to you by", both in red. Below is the Toys "R" Us logo of the time with a black outline, albeit with the "R" not facing backwards, along with a copyright stamp reading "Copyright ©1993 Toys "R" Us, Inc." The "Holiday Entertainment" text opens like a door to reveal Geoffrey the Giraffe (who is the company's mascot) wearing a blue shirt on the other side, causing the "R" in the logo to spin rapidly as Geoffrey watches. The "R" stops spinning and takes on its normal position as Geoffrey looks at the viewer, smiling, arms crossed, and blinking once. Afterwards, the logo fades out.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: A playful synth theme with flutes, strings, and percussion, with a twirling sound for the reversed "R".

Availability: Seen only at the end of Nick & NoelThe Bears Who Saved Christmas, and Dot and Spot's Magical Christmas Adventure.
